Erudite Scholar and illustrious legal luminary of India Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi gets felicitated with prestigious Nobles of Commonwealth Nations Awar

New Delhi: The prestigious Nobles of Commonwealth Nations Award of World Book of Records, United Kingdom has been bestowed upon Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Chairperson, Law Commission of India for matchless contribution in promoting democratic values and legal services to serve society. The award ceremony was held At House of Commons, British Parliament on14 September 2023. The certificate was bestowed to Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Chairperson, Law Commission of India by Dr. Vishwapati Trivedi, IAS, Former Secretary, Government of India and Mr. Santosh Shukla, President & CEO, World Book of Records, United Kingdom. Significantly, Hon’ble Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, graduated in Law from Lucknow University in the year 1986 and enrolled as an Advocate on 1st February, 1987. He mainly practised in Constitutional Courts in Allahabad High Court at Lucknow Bench. He had also appeared as an Advocate in several cases in different High Courts and Supreme Court of India.  He was appointed the Assistant Solicitor General of India for the Allahabad High Court in the year 2007. After practising for more than 20 years, he was elevated as High Court Judge on 13th April, 2009 and took oath as permanent Judge on 24th December, 2010. Hon’ble Justice Awasthi was also nominated as the Senior Judge of Allahabad High Court at Lucknow 05 January 2021 and thereafter was elevated as Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court on 11th October, 2021. During his tenure as a Judge for roughly 13 and half years, Hon’ble Justice Awasthi decided approximately 44,000 cases, out of which more than 600 judgments were approved for reporting, as they involved important questions of Law. Most of the cases decided by Hon’ble Justice Awasthi have had nation-wide impact as well as international importance too. On being recognized by the Nobles of Commonwealth Nations Award of the World Book of Records, he was congratulated by Mr. Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Governor of Rajasthan, India, Mr. Akhilesh Mishra,High Commissioner, Republic of Ireland, Dr. Vishwapati Trivedi (IAS), Former Secretary to the Government of India, Ms. Bhawani Rana, Former President of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kathmandu, Nepal and other international dignitaries across the world.
